Clay, Glass & Metal Show in Downtown Royal Oak

The annual Royal Oak event is sure to be hit again this year, June 13-14, 2015, and draw in all metro Detroit families who love hands-on artistry.

There is nothing more unique and inventive than experiencing art in the making. And that’s exactly what your family will get when you attend the Clay, Glass & Metal Show June 13-14, 2015 in downtown Royal Oak.

For 21 years now, Royal Oak residents and the surrounding area have gotten the opportunity to enjoy a multitude of displays and demonstrations showing how to make art out of some of the country’s most popular elements. Bring your kids and let them explore art made by more than 125 of the finest artists from all over the country.

Among the artwork on display, you’ll find unique works in glass blowing, clay and metal, with no competition from other forms of artwork; plus, blacksmith and pewter work. You’ll also get the chance to meet the artists without the distraction of loud music or retail booths.

In true tradition for this show, you’ll see about a dozen professionals demonstrate their craftsmanship in glass blowing, metal working, clay throwing and more, which will inspire your kids to use their imagination next time they are in art class. Kids can also take part in activities provided in the kids’ area.

New this year is the Friends of the Royal Oak Public Library booth where kids that stop by this booth will be able to make their own mini glass mosaic pieces. Be sure to swing by the Emagination mosaic station, sponsored by Emagine Royal Oak, to put a piece in their mosaic, to be put on display in the library after the festival.

The event will take place at a new location in 2015, on Fourth Street between Main and Knowles streets. Times are as follows:

  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

All admission is free, however parking may have a small fee.
