Day Out with Thomas at Greenfield Village

The whole town is talking trains! Thomas the Tank Engine, from Sir Topham Hatt’s fleet of engines, is chugging his way into Greenfield Village – making it one of the hot things to do in metro Detroit for three fun-filled weekends, loaded with train rides, special guests and more on April 25-26, May 2-3 and 9-10, 2015.

Thomas will first stop at the Smith Creek Depot for a photo op, after which he will supply 30-minute round-trip rides through the village. Folks waiting for their turn to board will enjoy live music and sing-a-longs from Barry the Guitar Guy, Picks & Sticks Stringband, and others.

Off the platform, guests will get to see one person turn a locomotive on the railroad turntable, enjoy pedal cars and bubbles, or play on a 1920s construction site-themed playground. Plus, there will be modular train displays, courtesy of Glancy Trains Modular Group, an Imagination Station Tent where kids can get Thomas-themed temporary tattoos, a magic show, food and more.

Kids will even get a chance to meet and snap a pic with Sir Topham Hatt himself, when he stops by at select times 9:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Day Out With Thomas starts at 9:30 a.m. at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, April 25-26, May 2-3 and 9-10, 2015. Tickets to this event may sell out quickly and will automatically be added to the price of a Greenfield Village ticket. Prices are as follows: $36.75/adults, $34.25/seniors, $30.50/kids ages 5-12, $11.75/kids 1-4, $6/parking.
