Frosty Follies 6 at the Trenton Village Theatre

Thanks to the phenomenal dancing skills of the Rockettes – and their ability to drop like dominoes – the "The Parade of Wooden Soldiers" is one of the most well-known (and perfectly performed) dance sequences of the holiday season. And the Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center (DYPAC) does its own rendition of this famed number during its annual holiday revue, Frosty Follies 6 at the Trenton Village Theatre, Dec. 21-23, 2012.

Some 70 kids, all between ages 5 and 19, will be a part of this grand holiday show, which typically welcomes 1,000 southeast Michigan theatergoers annually.

Along with the ever-popular toy soldier number, there’s a variety of kick-butt dance performances and, of course, renditions of all your favorite holiday songs.

Another special treat for family members – young and old – is a veterans' memorial number, which features a PowerPoint presentation with images of veterans and their family members.

Each year, the show offers something new. So what will it be in 2012? There's only one way to find out! Snag tickets for $7-$12 and catch the live performances at the following times:

  • Friday-Saturday: 7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 2 p.m.

DYPAC, which was founded in 1998, strives to "provide a state-of-the-art performance and learning center" that caters to youth in the downriver area – where they can exercise their artistic talent. Thanks to the group, local youth have a place to learn and grow with in their singing and acting skills.
