Trenton Roar on the River

PNC Bank and the Trenton Rotary Club team up to present boat racing, live music and more at Trenton Roar on the River at Elizabeth Park, July 19-21, 2019.

The Detroit River will roar offshore at Elizabeth Park in Trenton, July 19-21, 2019, as festival-goers gather to eat good food, watch boat races, rock to live music and more during Trenton Roar on the River, presented by PNC Bank and the Trenton Rotary Club.

The festivities begin with “A Taste of the Races” on Friday night. Thirty dollars grants visitors all-you-can-eat access to the region’s best restaurants and caterers all under one tent.

Once you’re full and satisfied, make your way to the stage for a free concert featuring The Phoenix Theory.

The real excitement kicks off Saturday. Arrive early for the pancake and sausage breakfast, 7-11 a.m., courtesy of Boy Scout Troop 1721. The Children’s Fun Fair opens noon-5 p.m., where younger kids can bounce on inflatables, play games, get their faces painted and more.

Vendors will offer burgers, pizza, beer, wine coolers, soft drinks, bottled water and more all weekend long.

The opening ceremony commences at noon on Saturday, then stick around for the boat races, 12:15-5 p.m. and Jet Ski performances by Typhoon Tommy at 1:50, 4 and 5 p.m.

Check out the live music that begins at 6 p.m. and runs till midnight, featuring The Respectables and The Incurables.

Sunday, sample more pancakes and sausage from 7 to 11 a.m. The Children’s Fun Fair runs noon-4 p.m. Final boat races shred waves 12:15-3:30 p.m., and the festival ends with the awards ceremony at 4 p.m.

The hours of operation are as follows:

  • Friday: 2-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

General admission to the festival is free. “Tastefest” tickets are $30; plus a $5 parking donation.
