Hop in the car, put the top down and take a ride into a southeast Michigan summer hotspot. The Summer Drive-In at Compuware Arena in Plymouth is a fun-filled attraction for movie lovers of all ages. Make it a family tradition, a fun night out, a birthday occasion or celebration; the drive-in is the place to be this summer. Enjoy sneak peek weekends on May 15-16 and 22-24, 2015, before it officially opens June 5-Sept. 6, 2015.
It features three large screens that show first-run movies, seven nights a week. Every night at the drive-in is a double feature – two movies for the price of one. The Compuware Arena drive-in will open at 7:30 p.m. and depending on the time of dusk, movies will begin between 8:15 and 9 p.m. Moviegoers are welcome to leave at anytime or stay for the second showing of a different first-run movie. The second feature begins 10 minutes after the first showing completes.
Don’t worry about dinner! The drive-in has a full-service restaurant that any family can sit down and enjoy – or order food for delivery to your car from CJ’s Brewing Company right on site. There is also a convenient concession trailer located in the parking lot. Families are welcome to set up lawn chairs and there is plenty of room for kids to play catch while being considerate of other moviegoers. Cars can listen to the movie by tuning your radio to a specific FM channel (information provided at the theater) or by bring a portable radio to set next to your lawn chairs.
Make it a perfect date with your significant other, too, with a double feature movie of your choice, dinner for two, a choice of a large pizza with two salads or pasta and bread sticks – drinks and tax included for $36.
The Summer Drive-In looks to preview the best summer blockbusters with a sneak peek May 15-16 and 22-24 before it opens June 5-Sept. 6 (closed June 7). The Drive-in is a great place to enjoy those Michigan summer nights while they last.
The theater will be closed on June 7.
