The Canton Liberty Fest is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, so head on out to Heritage Park for three days of fun in the sun. From June 16-18, 2016, the festival will be in full swing.
Families will definitely want to check out the carnival games and rides for summer thrills. Additionally, there are two stages for live entertainment, including concerts and Zumba.
Families can also check out the “Movie Under The Stars” on Friday. See Star Wars: The Force Awakens under the stars, and if you bring the kids out early, they can meet Star Wars characters.
You can also experience the “Taste of Canton.” The fair’s fare includes a variety of food from local restaurants, like Coldstone Creamery and Twisted Rooster. There will also be an adult beverage tent that will feature craft beers and hard ciders from the Liberty Street Brewing Company.
Friday and Saturday, you can also take a ride in a Shell Camino Monster Truck for a fee – a great experience for any truck-loving kid. Also on Friday and Saturday, America’s Most Wanted Car Show showcases cars from as early as the 1920s all the way through the 1970s. Car enthusiasts are sure to love it!
On Saturday morning, take a jog in the Liberty Run 5k or 10k. Registration can be done online or in person Friday and Saturday before the race. There will also be a quick, 1-mile route for anyone looking for something smaller.
Plus, on Saturday, be sure to stop by the Metro Parent booth between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Be one of the first 10 people to say the special phrase, “O say can you see?” and you can pick from our swag bag.
Saturday night at dusk there will be a fireworks show, which is always a hit with the kids.
Different events may cost money (including the carnival rides), but entry to the fair is free, as well as some events. Times vary, and you can check the full event schedule online.
