Civil-War-Reenactment

It is no longer 2016. Soldiers and civilians in the Civil War era return to tell their stories at the Civil War Reenactment, Oct. 15-16, 2016. The smoke appears and men march in their uniforms with guns and a thirst to fight. This defining time of the nation’s history begins in 1861.

Visit the camps and learn about the military drills. Children can even participate in the drills! Talk to civilians and see how their everyday lives play out in the era. You’ll witness fights between small units of troops while you’re here, too.

Kids will love being able to interact with the reenactors. Don’t miss taking your kids by the bank barn to see the camp surgeon. For an additional $2, kids can participate in a candle-dipping craft.

Join the soldiers for the candle light walk on Oct. 15. Timed sessions begin at 7 p.m. A spirit from the past will be your guide through the site. Note: The event is not recommended for children under 6 years old. Preregistration is required for the candle light walk.

Celebrate more than 150 years since the ending of this central event in America’s history. Admission for the event is $5. The candle light walk is $5 for adults $3 for kids ages 6-16. Vehicle entry to the park is $10.

Times are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
