Downtown Rochester Fire and Ice Festival

The family-friendly Oakland County event features ice sculptures, fireworks and more to help southeast Michigan families celebrate the season Jan. 22-24, 2016.

Fire and Ice Festival Rochester

A winter festival that will give you a reason to celebrate the snow and ice is returning for its ninth year in downtown Rochester.

The Fire and Ice Festival will be held Jan. 22-24, 2016, and features ice sculptures, carriage rides and favorite winter activities like ice skating and snowshoeing. Guests will also enjoy a little reminder of summertime with the nightly fireworks on Friday and Saturday evenings.


Located at East Third and Water streets in downtown Rochester, the three-day festival will also offer food truck vendors, marshmallow roasting, an ice carving competition on Saturday, dog sled demonstrations and rides, tube sled runs and more.

You’ll also have the opportunity to add a furry friend to your family at the Oakland County Pet Adoption Tent, where dog adoptions will be offered on Saturday and Sunday.

Hours for the 2016 Fire and Ice Festival are as follows:

  • Friday: 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Sunday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

A free shuttle service to the festival will run continuously from Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 1234 W. Walton Road in Rochester Hills. The designated pick-up and drop-off location at the festival will be at East Fourth and Main streets.

The event is free and open to the public.
