The winter season welcomes the 14th annual Holiday Magic Parade, Nov. 22, 2015. The parade includes more than 80 parade units to bring the holiday celebration, starting at Lincoln and Washington avenues, to life.
Presented by Emagine Theatre and Ironwood Grill, the parade includes floats, circus performers and favorites Cass Tech High School Marching Band and Redford Township Unicycle Club. New this year are the Royal Oak Robotic Team and the Motor City Heat Marching Band.
The Boys & Girls Club of Oakland and Macomb Counties accepts new unwrapped toys for its Holiday Basket Program, which helps people in need during the winter. Donations accepted before the parade can be taken to the Boys & Girls Club, located 1545 E. Lincoln Ave., Royal Oak.
Thirty-eight years of family fun and fitness comes back with the Santa Scamper. The enjoyable run allows families to stay warm and run, walk or jog through the parade route at 1:30 p.m., and registration includes a Santa hat, McDonald’s coupon and hot chocolate.
After the parade, stick around to see Santa and Mrs. Claus (3-5 p.m.) at the Skyward Real Estate, located at 519 S. Washington Ave., Royal Oak. They would love to see your children – and parents, be sure to bring your cameras. This is a memorable moment not worth forgetting!
When the family starts to get hungry, stop in restaurants participating in Kids Eat Free, running Nov. 22-Dec. 27. Kids eat a free meal when you buy an adult meal. You’ll find a list of participating restaurants here.
Admission for the parade is free and it steps off at 2 p.m. Sunday.
