So, your kid has a bedtime but wants to celebrate the New Year, too? Well, you don’t have to choose between 2016 and your child’s sleep patterns this New Year’s Eve. Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties are packed with fun New Year’s events and activities (including a ball drop) for both parents and kids to enjoy well before midnight; plus a few long-night/overnight events for older kids.

New Year’s Jump ‘n Art at Pump It Up of Canton

The whole family is invited to the museum for this third annual event, which features winter crafts, hot cocoa, cookies and a kid’s New Year’s countdown to noon.

Northville Nite Family New Year’s Eve Party

A Disney mascot greets all the little partygoers to this annual New Year’s Eve event, which features a magic show, face painting, games and more. Bring an appetite because there are hot dogs and pizza for sale, and be sure to stick around until the end for the countdown.

New Year’s Eve Party at Livonia Community Center

Enjoy a rock climbing wall and swimming, face painting, dodge ball and a giant inflatable structure. There’s also food, music and a surprise entertainer. Space is limited, be sure to grab your tickets in person at the LCRC as soon as possible.

New Year’s Eve in Never Never Land in Mount Clemens

This year’s festivities are hosted by Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the Fairy Godmother, and feature face painting, magic shows, Thomas the Train rides, pony rides, a petting zoo and karaoke. You’ll also get the chance to meet with Elsa, Anna and Olaf, plus watch fireworks and a ball drop at 9 p.m.

Motor City NYE, The Drop in Detroit

The whole event lasts well into New Year’s Day for adults, but there’s a Kids Zone open 4-7 p.m. that features a maze, magician, face painting, karaoke and a D-Burst Sculpture drop at 6:30 p.m. There’s also ice-skating at the park, horse-drawn carriage rides, entertainment from local performers for everyone and another drop at midnight, too.
