Family Events Plymouth Community Fall Festival in Kellogg Park « Previous Next » Christina Clark • September 1, 2014 Add Comment Tweet Fall isn't just for schoolwork; it can be tons of fun too! Parents, give your kids a break from the books for a day and head to the Plymouth Community Fall Festival for a full midway, games, food, special events and more. It runs Sept. 5-7, 2014. The festival began back in 1956 as a community picnic to raise the funds to buy playground equipment. Since then, it's expanded into a full-fledged festival spanning several downtown blocks. These days, families can enjoy all the traditional fun and games of a carnival – with added bonuses like great food and local vendors. All weekend long, check out jewelry, pottery and other works of hometown artisans on display at the craft show. Rev up your excitement with the antique and classic cars at the local Vietnam Veterans-sponsored car show Saturday and Sunday. And see the cutest, largest, smallest and most unique pets in Plymouth at the Saturday pet show. Hungry? Grab a bite at taste fest on Friday, all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday or annual chicken barbecue Sunday. Not sure what you're craving? Simply check out some of the food booths dotting the festival. Booths will have everything from candies and roasted almonds to old-fashioned lemonade, kielbasa and pierogi. All this, plus games, rides and live entertainment – how's that for a homework break? The Plymouth Fall Festival happens Sept. 5-7. General admission is free, but some fees apply for some activities. Times are as follows: Friday: noon-11p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m.-11p.m. Sunday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information on the 2014 Plymouth Community Fall Festival, see the Metro Parent calendar listing.
