Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village in Dearborn

Dress in your best costume and take a scare-free stroll through a spooky Greenfield Village. Hallowe'en nights run select evenings Oct. 14-30, 2016, bringing seasonal family fun for all ages.

Categorized as “frightfully fun for the whole family,” Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village, Oct. 14-30, 2016, houses extravagant costumed characters at what is the most spooktacular Hallowe’en event. Greenfield Village turns into a mid-20th century party.

Enter a place full of fun and adventure (that’s scare-free, to boot). More than 1,000 hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns lace the mile-long, curving path. The Headless Horseman arrives on his horse to tell his story about The Legends of Sleepy Hollow – and dancing skeletons, witches and wizards skip along.

Meet interesting characters including fairies, ghosts and pirates. Each has something to tell. New characters for 2016 include Hansel and Gretel, plus a tea party with the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

Expanded for this year’s Hallowe’en event is the Top Hat Sideshow, a crew performing fire-breathing and daring stunts – even bigger than last year and in a new location. Guests can also experience live music, treat stations, hot drinks and snacks. Leave with memories and stories only told at this Hallowe’en occasion.

Hurry! This event sells out fast. Admission is $16 for nonmembers, $13.75 for members and children under 2 years old get in free. It’s $6 for parking. Greenfield Village is currently offering a $2 off admission coupon for select nights on its website.

The event runs Thursdays-Sundays Oct. 14-30, and times are as follows:

  • Fridays and Saturdays: 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m.
  • Thursdays and Sundays: 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.

Note: Time slots are every 30 minutes.
