Winter in the Motor City is full of magic and hope in Woodward Wonderland, a stage show by the Mosaic Youth Theatre running Dec. 11-13, 2015. The show gives families an opportunity to reminisce about Christmases past – and present – in Detroit through short plays and dances.
The production celebrates the yesterday and today of winter holiday fun, from the escape of the Chilly Willie float in America’s Thanksgiving Parade to ice skating at Campus Martius. Don’t forget about the Motown Christmas songs and the beloved Santa Claus and Toyland on the 12th floor of the old J.L. Hudson’s!
The show highlights the city’s strong arts community and rich culture, too. Watch about 100 metro Detroit kids and teens from different schools across the region, along with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Youth Ensemble and LaShelle’s School of Dance, come together to present this favorite holiday show.
Tickets are $15 for youth ages 5-17, $24 for adults and $18 for seniors and adult full-time students, and are available online.
Catch three performances only at the Detroit Film Theatre inside the Detroit Institute of Arts, happening at the following times:
- Friday-Saturday: 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 4 p.m.
