About the Autism Alliance of Michigan

The Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM) is a statewide nonprofit serving all regions of Michigan. We were founded in 2010 by two prominent autism parents who came together and used their network and connections to establish AAoM due to their own difficulties in accessing services for their children.

AAoM is guided by the vision that people with autism will lead lives that meet their greatest potential. Our mission at AAoM is to lead efforts to raise expectations and expand opportunities for people touched by autism across the lifespan.

Our core values are: Advocacy, Diversity, Expertise, Innovation, Ownership, Compassion and Collective Impact. AAoM’s three pillars of work are:

  • Navigation: Provide professional guidance and consultation across the lifespan for anyone touched by autism.
  • Education: Drive initiatives that address root causes of systemic barriers to access, opportunity and outcomes in education while supporting increasing acceptance that leads toward the preparation of a safe, successful and inclusive life.
  • Employment: Maximize employment opportunities for individuals of all abilities across industries, through innovation and partnerships.

If you are in need of guidance or information on how to navigate your autism journey, contact our navigators at 877-463-2266 or navigator@aaomi.org for a free professional consultation.
