Robert Chappell is a distinguished teaching professor and professor emeritus at Northern Illinois University. In this fun-filled educational performance, students will learn about a wide range of percussion traditions, from xylophones of East Africa to tassa drums of the Caribbean. Robert Chappell will be joined by students from the Oakland University African Ensemble, World Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band. Mark Stone and Patrick Fitzgibbon, ensemble directors.
