Event Details
Dig for dinosaur fossils, meet a paleontologist and clean and take home your very own fossil at exploreLAB, Michigan’s only museum-based fossil prep lab for young learners at Cranbrook Institute of Science.
In the Dino Dig, children of all ages will use paleontological tools to dig their way through model fossil beds brushing away millions of years of sediment to expose real dinosaur casts. Visitors to the Paleo Portal lab can observe dinosaur fossils that are 68 million years old and learn from a paleontologist the process for their conservation, exposure and removal.
exploreLAB is open Saturdays at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.
