Event Details

The Art of the Everyday exhibition focuses on the objects that were used in the homes and sanctuaries of ordinary people in the ancient Mediterranean world, from Greece to Italy to Egypt and beyond.

Connecting our exploration of ancient artifacts to the technologies of today, the exhibition features examples of ancient artifacts that have been scanned and processed into 3D virtual models, and some 3D-printed samples.

The artifacts have been loaned to U-M Dearborn by the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology (U-M, Ann Arbor) and the Toledo Museum of Art. In addition, the exhibition will include modern studio glass and glass paperweights from the permanent collection of U-M Dearborn and much more.

The Art of the Everyday: Objects from Ancient Daily Life will be on view from April 26 to July 5, 2019. The opening reception for the exhibition will take place on April 26, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Visit the museum’s website for daily hours.
