American Girl has released its 2021 Girl of the Year! Meet Kira Bailey, a 10-year-old who cares deeply for animals and the environment.
Kira decides to leave her home in Michigan to help out at her great-aunts’ wildlife sanctuary and vet clinic in Australia. During her experiences, she learns about the ecology while caring for an orphaned koala joey and facing a bushfire that’s threading the animal wildlife sanctuary. Kira’s story will inspire kids to think about wildlife protection and climate change with Kira as a role model.
