Macomb County Youth Sports Leagues

Sports not only help kids develop physically, but they are great for social interaction, too. And in Macomb County, there are plenty of youth sports leagues for kids to work on their game – and make some friends, too.

Participating in sports helps children develop healthy habits – both physically and socially. You probably already knew that if you fell into the 41 percent of parents in southeast Michigan who consider sports ‘very important’ or even the 41 percent who consider them ‘somewhat important’ according to a survey by the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation.

Despite over 80 percent of parents who recognize the importance of sports in their children’s lives, only 13 percent of kids in the area are physically active for an hour a day – and most of those kids are only exposed to sports through gym classes or school teams.

What can parents in Macomb County do to make sure their kids are getting in an hour of exercise a day? How about joining a local sports league? Macomb County is full of opportunities when it comes to extracurricular sports, from soccer to dance leagues and everything in between, so you’re bound to find something that will keep your kids healthy and having fun.
