Ninja Warrior Classes for Kids at The Edge Training Center

Children ages 3-15 can get in on ninja warrior classes for kids at this training center with locations in Commerce Township and, in January 2019, Plymouth.

If you’ve been searching for ninja warrior classes for kids, you’ll find what you’re looking for in here in metro Detroit at The Edge Training Center.

With this local facility, children who find athletic inspiration from shows like American Ninja Warrior have two places to train for their next big obstacle.

The Edge’s Commerce Township location, which opened in 2009 and specializes in youth ninja warrior classes for kids, is joined in January 2019 by a new location in Plymouth to accommodate growing demand.

“Given the popularity of this type of activity and training, we wanted to extend that opportunity to as many children as possible in southeast Michigan,” says owner Carey Sherbrooke.

The benefits of ‘ninja’ training

Ninja classes at The Edge give children ages 3 to 15 a structured environment to build strength, improve agility and increase their confidence.

This type of training is “the epitome of diversification of movement,” says general manager and coach Aubrey Vincent, as it includes swinging, balancing and more.

“Ninja athletes are trained to be prepared for whatever challenge waits,” Vincent says.

Most importantly, it’s great fun.

“As (children) continue to gain strength and confidence, they get to try more difficult obstacles and push themselves to higher limits,” Vincent adds.

“The inherently challenging and constantly changing aspects of the sport play well to children who are always looking for a new experience and adventure.”

Some students at The Edge have even gone on to compete in national ninja athletics competitions. In summer of 2018, for example, five local kids were selected to compete on the inaugural season of the nationally televised American Ninja Warrior Junior.

Finding the right class

Weekly classes and a la carte sessions are available at The Edge, plus a competition team, camps, kids birthday parties and events.

“In this type of training, athletes lose sight of the fact that they are strengthening their bodies and increasing their overall health when they are doing an activity that is fun and challenging,” Sherbrooke says.

“As athletes increase their skill and strength, the activities become even more fun.”

The Edge’s Commerce Township spot is at 3285 Martin Road, Suite 101, and you can reach this location at 248-877-1525. The Plymouth destination, which opens in January 2019, is at 45677 Helm St. and the phone number is 734-983-8053.
