What screams Halloween more than a nighttime stroll among costumed characters? It’s the hallmark tradition of All Hallows Eve and you can put an educational twist on it during an Evening Lantern Tour at Oakwoods Metropark.
These nighttime tours happen the last two weekends in October, the 19-20 and 26-27, 2018 and feature all kinds of Halloween fun!
First, stop off and take a hayride around the park to get a feel for the grounds. After, a lantern-bearing guide will lead you along a pumpkin-lit trail in the middle of the woods.
Along the way, you will stop to meet a variety of critters and characters in all kinds of crazy costumes and silly situations. Listen to them as they tell you all about the Michigan legends they hail from and the local history that they know.
These tours happen at 7 and 8:30 p.m. the last two Fridays and Saturdays in October at Oakwoods Nature Center inside of Oakwoods Metropark. Tickets are $12 and must be purchased in advance. Parking is $10 per vehicle.
