Correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve started to see some snow here in Michigan. It’s not often that we’re all so excited to see the fluffy white stuff. Seeing a fresh coating of snow makes me think of one thing – snowmen! From making one outside in the front yard to making one inside the living room with a small pile of cotton balls, snow and snowmen go hand in hand. What other ways can you make a snowman inside? By making your very own snowman bookmark. Whether inside or out, he’s guaranteed to hold your place.
- Wooden craft sticks
- White craft paint
- White cardstock scraps
- 2-inch circle paper punch
- Double-sided tape
- Felt scraps
To get started, paint both sides of your craft stick white. Set this piece aside to dry.
Next, punch out a 2-inch circle with your paper punch. This is a great way to use up paper scraps from holiday crafting.
Give your snowman a face. Add eyes and a mouth with a black marker and a nose with an orange marker. The look of the snowman is up to you!
Attach the snowman’s face to the painted craft stick with a piece of double-sided tape.
From your felt scrap, cut a long rectangle out. (Again, the size and width is up to you.) Make several small cuts at each end of the scarf to create fringe.
Finish your bookmark by attaching the scarf to the craft stick. Wrap a piece of double-sided tape from the front to back. Fold your scarf into a V and slide over the tape. Press down to secure.
