Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats and Eats in Downtown Royal Oak

Take a break on Labor Day weekend and hop over to the annual Arts, Beats and Eats festival, which offers food, music, art and fun, Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2019.

The annual Arts, Beats and Eats festival in downtown Royal Oak keeps Michiganders returning year after year for the wonderful music stages, mouthwatering food and incredible art – and the fest itself is returning Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2019.

The festival holds 9 stages filled with different themed music – and even one just for the kids.

The Detroit Institute of Arts Kid Stage features puppet and magic shows, clowns and kid bands. The stage opens noon daily and closes between 7 and 8 p.m., depending on the day.

Other stages include artists and performances like Beatlemania, All American Rejects, Third Eye Blind, Theory of a Deadman and more.

Grab your food tickets and sample many local restaurants throughout the weekend, including low fat, gluten-free and vegan options.

This year, 16 food tickets can be bought for $10. All food vendors at the event will only be accepting food tickets as payment.

Over 100 artists will be having their work on display all weekend for viewing and purchase. Sculptures, designers, jewelry makers, photographers and painters show off their best work and speak on the unique materials and techniques they use.

Arts, Beats and Eats will run 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Sunday, and 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday. Admission is free before 5 p.m.and $7 after 5 p.m. on Friday, $3 before 3 p.m., $5 after 3 p.m. and $7 after 5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and Monday. Kids under age 3 are free.

Carnival rides will also be set up for families and cost $2.50-$3.75 per ride.
