The Royal Oak Optimist Club has once again managed to put together a family night packed with an endless assortment of excitement for the 7th annual Bestest Concert Ever at the Royal Oak Farmers Market from 5-8 p.m. March 10, 2018.
For just $5 per person, attendees can eat yummy foods, dance to live music, try playing various instruments and run around discovering a multitude of other fun things to do. All of the event’s proceeds will support the Royal Oak Optimist Club, an organization dedicated to bringing out the best in the kids in their community while encouraging positivity and hope.
Calling all fashionistas! You can experiment with cutting edge threads at the Haute Couture Dress-Up Station, head to the Crazy Hair Salon and then strut down a red carpet for a photo shoot afterwards.
Looking for more? There will also be face painting, balloon animals and temporary tattoos available.
Music lovers will be excited to explore McCourt’s Musical Petting Zoo, where attendees can drum up a beat, strum a ukulele, get acquainted with the oboe and learn the difference between a viola and a violin at this hands-on exhibit.
The Corktown Popes, Miss Paula and the Candy Bandits, and Grooving Violation are all slated to deliver performances, too, so whether you’re looking forward to some rock and roll with Irish flair, quirky “kindie rock” by Miss Paula and the Candy Bandits, or perhaps a bit of electric tunes, there’s something for everyone.
Motor City Irish Dance is also ready to show off their best Irish step dancing and teach some moves to the audience as well.
Is that all? Far from it. New this year is a rock n’ roll silent auction. Enter for your chance to win instruments, artwork, puzzles, toys and other cool prizes. You can also purchase a new bike helmet from the Optimists for just $5 while you’re there.
If tummies start grumbling, local eateries will have food and beverages available for purchase throughout the event, too.
Sound like a fun time for you and your fam? Load the kids up and head to the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market on March 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. If you need more information, find basic details on the Bestest Concert Ever, and other awesome upcoming events in metro Detroit, in the Metro Parent calendar.
