Families will have the chance to explore a Chanukah Wonderland this holiday season, Dec. 13-14 and 17-18, 2017, will take place at Orchard Mall in West Bloomfield.
A project of the Bais Chabad Torah Center in West Bloomfield, Chanukah Wonderland will feature four days of activities to celebrate the holiday including food, hands-on educational activities and entertainment.
Daily offerings include an elephant photo booth, challenge table, dreidel bounce house and “Tot Town” with a ball pit, play dough, sand table and Lego-Land; plus an olive press demonstration and crafts such as decorating a Chanukah mug, making a dreidel snow globe, duct tape wallets and more.
But the biggest event of all happens on Dec. 18. The Grand Menorah Lighting Celebration starts at 5:30 p.m. and features performances by the Detroit Marching Band, delicious treats and, of course the lighting of the giant coin-orah.
Throughout the event, guests are encouraged to contribute canned foods to be added to the CANorah that will later be donated to a local food bank.
Hours of operation are as follows:
- noon-6 p.m. Sunday
- 306 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday and Monday
