Families will have the chance to explore a Chanukah Wonderland this holiday season, Dec. 2-6, 2018, will take place at Orchard Mall in West Bloomfield.
A project of the Bais Chabad Torah Center in West Bloomfield, Chanukah Wonderland will feature five days of activities to celebrate the holiday including food, hands-on educational activities and entertainment.
Daily offerings include an elephant photo booth, challenge table, dreidel bounce house and “Tot Town” with a ball pit, play dough, sand table and Lego-Land; plus an olive press demonstration and crafts such as decorating Chanukah glasses, candle- and sock-making and much more.
But the biggest event of all happens on Dec. 6. The Grand Menorah Lighting Celebration starts at 5:30 p.m. and features performances by NISSIM, delicious treats and, of course the lighting of the giant coin-orah.
Throughout the event, guests are encouraged to contribute canned foods to be added to the CANorah that will later be donated to a local food bank.
Hours of operation are as follows:
- noon-5 p.m. Sunday
- 3-6 p.m. Monday-Wednesday
- 5 p.m. Thursday
Admission is $5 per child to participate in activities and $10-$15 for the NISSIM concert. Guests can walk through the wonderland for free.
Orchard Mall is located at 6445 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield.
