Opposites attract at Clawson’s Fire and Ice with Spice Festival, which returns Oakland County on Feb. 18, 2017. Will you venture toward the flames or embrace the frost?
Fire breathers, fire eaters and jugglers will be around to entertain their freezing fans, but if that isn’t enough of a temperature spike for you, there will also be heated tents and bonfires equipped with all the fixings for s’mores.
Ice carvers will also be conducting demonstrations all day, just follow the sound of whirring chainsaws or spot the ice shavings forming misty clouds around them.
Plus, if you’re a fan of taking family photos or super cool selfies, their creations will be kept on display all day for you to snap a pic.
If your little ones start feeling a bit restless, a kid’s craft tent is also on site, so they can try winter-themed activities (which are fun for all ages) and make creations that are perfect for displaying at home – free decorations!
Feeling hungry? You’re in for a treat. A chili cook-off has been set and this year’s fierce competitors include local favorites: Clawson Grill, Mojave Cantina, Moose Winooski, Black Lotus Brewing Co., Montage Grill and Clawson Steak House.
All proceeds from the chili-cook off will be donated to benefit Clawson Schools Parent-Teacher Organizations.
Families are invited to check out all of the fun that is available, enjoy the live music, support the city and make great memories with your loved ones.
Patrons should head on over to the big tents in the southeast municipal parking lot on South Main Street beginning at 11 a.m., and the event will run until 4 p.m.
