This year, GM River Days, presented by Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, will pack the Detroit RiverFront full of games, rides and activities for kids of all ages – all in celebration of the Detroit RiverWalk.
This one-of-a-kind June festival will stretch down the length of the Detroit Riverfront from the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority Terminal and Dock to Rivard Plaza and the William G. Milliken State Park – and will feature entertainment both on and off of the water.
Those with their sea legs enjoy Jet Ski demonstrations by Typhoon Tommy and Diamond Jack Riverboat tours, while land lovers can check out the live music, sand sculptures, air shows, street performers and more.
You’ll even get the chance to get a birds-eye view of the festival as you soar 300 feet across the sky over the Detroit RiverWalk on the zipline. The cost is $15 for one ride and $25 for two.
Parents, don’t forget to stop by the Flagstar Bank Kids Zone for some kid-friendly activities including face painting, crafts and animal and magic shows.
The festival is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Admission is free on Friday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is $3 (or $5 after 3 p.m.) all other days. Additional fees apply for rides.
