Great Train Show at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi

Stop by the Great Train Show at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi on Feb. 24-25, 2018, to take part in the model train extravaganza.

Let your little conductor experience the magic of the locomotive at the Great Train Show, the nation’s only “coast to coast” model train event at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi Feb. 24-25, 2018.

The event is for both beginner and expert model train enthusiasts and features seminars on developing a layout and scenery as well as maintenance of model trains, plus dozens of vendors in the hobby marketplace.

If your kids are the train lovers, check out the an operating Lego train for inspiration and then pick up a model or get your kids started on their first layout. Everything you need to start the new hobby is available at the show.

Don’t worry if you’re a train novice, as the latest how-to videos, publications and live demonstrations will be available to show you the ropes.

One of the biggest draws for children is the riding train. Kids of all ages can take a seat in a movable train and parents can take a picture of their children on the mini ride.

For the more experienced train hobbyist, marvel at more than 250 tables of trains for sale or take a peek at the 50-plus exhibitors, some with antique and rare trains you won’t find at your local hobby shop. Swap stories and model train parts with fellow collectors, too.

Looking to expand your collection? Model trains, train accessories, model vehicles that could be used on a train layout and modeling tools will all be sold at the event. Train-themed merchandise such as artwork and clothing will also be available.

The two-day event runs 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 24-25 in Hall B at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Tickets are priced at $10/adults (good for both days), $9 on Sunday and free for kids 11 and under.
