Right on the heels of Earth Day, keep on showing Mother Nature the love – and learn about the organic and eco-friendly lifestyle – all weekend long when the Green Street Fair returns to downtown Plymouth May 4-6, 2012 for its fifth year.
The fair was founded as an effort to really bring home the benefits of living a green lifestyle. It features workshops and speakers, entertainers and eco-friendly companies – some selling organic and green products. This year, there will be more than 200 exhibitors on hand at the event to showcase and sell their eco wares.
Kellogg Park in Plymouth, which plays hosts to festivals like the Plymouth Ice Fest and Plymouth Art Fest, is once again the location for this event.
Street performers, recycling workshops, fitness demos and organic cooking demos are among the highlights of the three-day fair, which welcomed some 90,000 attendees last year.
Children will enjoy the interactive displays and other kid-centric activities – including the popular Fort Box and instrument-building workshop. Plus, they'll have a chance to visit with some furry friends at the petting farm.
It's free to go green for the weekend (unless you plan to shop!), and you can catch all the eco-friendly fun at the following times:
- Friday: noon-7 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The downtown area boasts restaurants and local retailers – be sure to check them out while you're there.
