Got a boxcar baby at home? Then bring him or her out to Joy Park in Clinton Township this October for a Harvest or Halloween train ride.

These rides, which are put on by the Michigan Transit Museum, happen each Sunday in October (plus the last one in September) and feature the thrill of an old school train ride and the fun of fall, mixed together for a unique seasonal experience.

Climb on board one of the historic locomotives during the harvest train rides, which run Sept. 30, Oct. 7 and 14, for a 45-minute ride and fall color tour past the changing leaves and scenery of Joy Park.

And the last two Sundays of the month, Oct. 21 and 28, add a little Halloween flair to your experience by joining the costumed crew for a bit of trick-or-treating on the train.

Each ride also features meet-and-greets with the train’s conductor, engineer and crew; plus cider and donuts from Blake’s Cider Mill.

The trains depart from Joy Park in Clinton Township every Sunday from Sept. 30-Oct. 28, 2018, at the top of each hour from 1 to 4 p.m.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for kids ages 4-12 and free for kids under three. Tickets can be purchased in the caboose on the day of your preferred ride.
