National Teen Library Lock-In Events in Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor

Get your over-it teen excited about books again at a local after-hours National Teen Library Lock-In event at select libraries on July 27, 2018.

Has your teen or tween turned away from books for the allure of a movie theater screen? Entice their imaginations and bring them back to books with the National Teen Library Lock-In – which gets our props as an awesome teen event in southeast Michigan.

This annual nationwide event is celebrated by libraries all over the country –including a few in Macomb, Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw counties – and brings teens together for book-themed escape rooms, crafts, games and more.

Here, find a list of libraries in the area celebrating the 2018 event on July 27. There are also a few other cool teen library events leading up to and following the big day peppered in. Take a look and find a teen lock-in event near you. Note: Registration is required where noted.
