Celebrate the New Year with the kids! These local New Year's Eve events for families have tons of fun activities and early start times to help ring in 2020.

So, your kid has a bedtime but wants to celebrate the New Year, too? Well, you don’t have to choose between 2020 and your child’s sleep patterns this New Year’s Eve.

Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties are packed with fun New Year’s Eve events for families on Monday, Dec. 31, 2019 (including a ball drop) for both parents and kids to enjoy well before midnight; plus a few long-night/overnight events for older kids.

Noon Year’s Eve at the Detroit Historical Museum

This kid-friendly event features a ball drop, kids’ zone, and live entertainment to celebrate the New Year.

New Year’s Eve Party at the Kirksey Recreation Center
