Southfield’s Winter Fest at the Southfield Pavilion

Kiss winter off with ice skating, snow tubing and other winter fun at Southfield's Winter Fest, which happens at the Southfield Pavilion on March 1, 2020.

The days are getting longer and the chill of winter will be long gone before you know it. Enjoy one last romp in the snow and cold during Southfield’s Winter Fest, which runs 2-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020.

This annual event, which takes place at the Southfield Pavilion, offers all types of family winter fun and events for you and your kids to enjoy.

Start it off by taking in a little of the history of snow tubing at the Southfield Public Library. Here, you’ll enjoy programming and pictures with the TUN-DRA Kennels sled team.

After you learn a bit about the sport, hit the slopes yourself or test out your skating skills with a bit of ice skating. There will also be horse-drawn carriage rides and a roaring fire for those not interested in skating or shredding – or those who want to warm up a bit afterwards.

Jack Frost a bit too chilly for you? You’ll also find plenty of indoor activities, including an exhibit of 40 reptiles and amphibians, courtesy of Nature Discovery, along with inflatable games and face painting.

The 2020 installment of Southfield’s Winter Fest happens 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1 at the Southfield Pavilion. Activities are both indoors and out, so you should dress for the weather. Admission is free and open to the public.
