St. Malachy Summerfest in Sterling Heights

Stop by the St. Malachy Summerfest for games, music, car displays and more. It all happens at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Sterling Heights Aug. 16-18, 2019.

For 40 years, St. Malachy Catholic Church in Sterling Heights has brought the community together for three days of music, car shows and more summer fun. It all returns Aug. 16-18, 2019, during the annual St. Malachy Summerfest.

This August festival kicks off on Friday at 4 p.m. in the social hall with a fish and chicken dinner, followed by a family-friendly games in the game tent, caricature artists and a craft show.

Later that evening, grown-ups will find some fun of their own in the Vegas room and bingo hall. A show by Toppermost, the Beatles tribute band, closes out the day from 7 to 11 p.m.

Saturday, there’s even more family fun to be had. A baseball/softball tournament for kids ages 7-12 years starts at 8 a.m. Kids are divided into groups by age and play every hour and a half through 12:30 p.m.

The game tent, craft show, bingo and Vegas room return on Saturday – along with a few new shows including a Repco Wildlife Encounter and Underground Rhythm Project.

A pasta dinner starts at 4 p.m. in the social hall, and a show by Metro Rockway closes out the day.

Find still more fun on Sunday in the form of classic car show, musical performances by the Fraser drumline, Tri City Plus Band and the Taylor Tucky band, along with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, roast beef dinner and grand raffle drawing.

In addition, all three days include Polish, Italian and other eats, costumed characters, kids’ rides and face painting.

The 40th annual St. Malachy Summerfest runs 4-11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16; 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17; and 8:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. Admission to the festival is free, though some fees will apply for some events.
