Fall has arrived in southeast Michigan. Just look around and start to observe all of those beautiful color changes! And, best of all, fall brings some great family fun opportunities, like the Wilson Barn Pumpkin Fest.
This annual Livonia tradition has been around for more than 30 years and will return Oct. 1-30, 2018 for family-friendly fall fun everyday.
On weekdays, pony rides and hayrides are available from noon – 7 p.m. (weather permitting; call in advance to schedule a weekday hayride) and on weekends, Halloween fun prevails.
Enjoy hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo and delicious cider and doughnuts for sale; plus crafter displays, hot chocolate and plenty of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and other fall decor for sale.
And for kids who’d like a little fright (but nothing too spooky) the Haunted Barn Stroll might be just right. It’s only $1 and takes kids through a barn packed with monsters and ghosts. It’s geared toward kids age 12 and younger and visitors can specify to staff how scary (or not scary) they’d like it to be.
This October festival is open 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission to the fest is free but fees apply for some activities.
The Haunted Barn is available Oct. 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28, 2018, from noon-7 p.m.
Proceeds from cider and doughnut sales benefit The Friends of the Barn. Wilson Barn is located at the corner of West Chicago and Middle Belt roads. Learn more about the barn here.
