Michigan has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of The Cheesecake Factory – heck, there was even a Facebook petition created to speed up the process. It features not only 30-plus flavors of the delectable signature dessert, but also a full menu of more than 200 selections, including pastas, pizzas, salads and sandwiches.
"The generous portion sizes are actually rooted in Detroit," says Alethea Rowe, TCF's senior director of public relations and brand management. In fact, CEO David Overton is an area native. "(He) remembers going out to eat with his family and wanted to create a place where people could share, like when he was a child."
How customers feel when they step inside is key, she adds: "We think it is really important to incorporate a friendly staff to add to a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere."
The eclectic ambience given off by hand-painted murals, cherry wood tables and Italian marble floors creates an experience great for date night or family dining.
