About the speakers

Yaff Kelly Headshot

Yaffa Maritz is a co-founder of Listening Mothers and clinical director of both Listening Mothers™ and Reflective Parenting, two research-based parenting programs. She is the founder and director of the Community of Mindful Parenting.

Maritz was born and trained in Israel as a clinical social worker. She also is a licensed mental health counselor with advanced training in infant mental health. She is a licensed Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) facilitator and certified Mindful Meditation Teacher. She is an advocate for the well-being of children and their families and serves on several local and national boards that promote this agenda, including the Governor’s Commission for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention.

She believes that by supporting parents and creating nurturing communities for them, we can set the foundation for the positive growth of children’s social, emotional and mental health.

Kelly Moore, PhD, LICSW, has dedicated more than 35 years to adolescent and family mental health. Serving as the Director of Counseling and Learning Support at an independent school in the Seattle area, she spearheaded the creation of a social-emotional curriculum for grades 5–12, established a robust parent education program and developed a well-being curriculum for faculty and staff. Driven by a steadfast mission to combat the alarming rise of depression, anxiety and suicide among youth she witnessed throughout her career, she founded Accompanied for Caregivers. Accompanied for Caregivers is a science-based social-emotional curriculum for parents and guardians. Moore is committed to her work with parents — seeing firsthand that boosting the well-being of parents and caretakers is the most effective way to stem the tide of despair plaguing our kids.
