From holiday breaks to professional development days, here is the 2023-24 school calendar as approved by Ann Arbor Public Schools. For the first time ever, Ann Arbor Public Schools has elected to include a fall break for staff and students.

Here are a few key dates you’ll want to bookmark:

  • First Day of School: Aug. 28, 2023
  • Fall Break: Oct. 13-16, 2023
  • Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22-24, 2023
  • Winter Break: Dec. 25, 2023-Jan. 5, 2024
  • Midwinter Break: Feb. 16-20, 2024
  • Spring Break: Mar. 25-29, 2024
  • Last Day of School: June 13, 2024

  • No School for Students & Staff – Labor Day: Sep. 1-4, 2023

  • Student Count Day: Oct. 4, 2023
  • 11th PSAT/NMSQT – Late Start for 9th, 10th, & 12th: Oct. 11, 2023
  • No School for Students and Staff – Fall Break: Oct. 13-16, 2023
  • Early Release for Elementary/Middle School/High School: Oct. 31, 2023

November 2023
