Niche, a leading platform for school rankings, has released its 2025 Most Diverse School Districts list, using U.S. Census data to evaluate diversity across the county.

Most diverse school districts in Macomb County

Warren Woods Public Schools, Warren (B)

  • Address: 12900 Frazho Rd., Warren
  • Why it stands out: Known for its diverse programming, Warren Woods Public Schools supports both academic and vocational pathways, helping students prepare for college and careers alike.

Established in the mid-20th century, the district’s growth mirrors that of Warren city’s suburban expansion, focusing on inclusivity and community-driven education.

Warren Consolidated Schools, Warren (B-)

  • Address: 31300 Anita Dr., Warren
  • Why it stands out: Warren Consolidated Schools serve a diverse student body with a focus on college and career readiness, including numerous Advanced Placement courses and technical education opportunities.

Since its establishment in the mid-1900s, the district has evolved in tandem with the industrial and suburban growth of Warren, emphasizing adaptability and community involvement.

Fitzgerald Public Schools, Warren (C+)

  • Address: 23200 Ryan Rd., Warren
  • Why it stands out: Fitzgerald Public Schools is recognized for its multicultural environment and strong support for English language learners. The district offers targeted academic support and early college and career readiness programs. It prides itself on helping students from various backgrounds thrive in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

What began in the 1920s as a small two-room schoolhouse has grown into a full-fledged K–12 district that serves a highly diverse area in Warren. The post-WWII suburban boom contributed to Fitzgerald’s expansion, and today it reflects the changing demographics and educational needs of its surrounding communities.

Center Line Public Schools, Center Line (C)

  • Why It Stands Out: Center Line Public Schools (CLPS) is notable for its rich history, dating back to 1869 when the first school was established. The district celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2024, marking over a century of educational service to the community. Additionally, Wolfe Middle School was recognized among the 2025 Best Middle Schools by U.S. News & World Report.

The district’s origins trace back to 1869 when land was purchased from the William Kaltz family for $200. Official records began in 1899, and the district was formally named Center Line Public Schools in 1959.

Roseville Community Schools, Roseville (C+)

  • Address: 18975 Church St., Roseville
  • Why It Stands Out: Roseville Community Schools serves over 4,000 students across 10 schools. The district has a rich history, with its first dedicated high schools, Burton and Eastland, built in 1922. The district was formed in 1952 through the merger of part of the former Kern Road Schools district and Burton School District.

The district’s formation in 1952 consolidated several smaller school districts, including parts of the former Kern Road Schools and Burton School Districts. Subsequent annexations in 1956 and 1960 expanded its boundaries to include Eastland Community School District and Greater Gratiot Schools.

South Lake Schools, Saint Clair Shores (B-)

The district serves southern St. Clair Shores and portions of Eastpointe and Grosse Pointe Shores. It was formed through the consolidation of several smaller districts over time, aiming to provide more comprehensive educational services to the community.

New Haven Community Schools, New Haven (B)

  • Why it stands out: New Haven Community Schools offer a community-focused education with a balance of athletics and academic programs, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among students.

Founded over a century ago, New Haven has preserved its small-town roots while embracing progressive educational practices to meet modern standards.

Huron Academy, Sterling Heights (B-)

  • Why It Stands Out: Huron Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K-8. Fraser Public Schools, Fraser (B+)

Established in the early 20th century, Fraser Public Schools grew with the city’s industrial base, continuously modernizing and expanding educational offerings to meet contemporary challenges.

Lake Shore Public Schools, Saint Clair Shores (C+)

  • Address: 28850 Harper Ave, Saint Clair Shores
  • Why It Stands Out: Lake Shore Public Schools is the oldest of the three public school districts in St. Clair Shores. The district has a strong athletic program, with the 1993 and 1994 boys’ basketball teams winning the Class B State Championship in 1994.

Established around 1924, Lake Shore Public Schools has a long history of serving the educational needs of the St. Clair Shores community. The district has evolved over the years, expanding its facilities and programs to meet the growing demands of its student population.
