Think your child’s high school is first rate? We took a look at which metro Detroit and Ann Arbor high schools are out performing the others, according to the most recent Top to Bottom Rankings from the State of Michigan, which are public school rankings based on student performance in core subjects and, for high schools, graduation rate data. A handful of high schools in our area ranked the top 5 percentile, which we’ve compiled here – plus the top charter schools that made the rankings.
There are plenty of other quality, high-performing schools ranking just outside of this top 5 percent range. Browse the Top to Bottom Rankings at MiSchoolData.org for a breakdown on even more schools.
Rankings do vary. Earlier in 2015, Newsweek published a list of top high schools in the nation, which named several other metro Detroit high schools as top contenders.
