Dress for the weather and hike a trail located through the land surrounding Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center, then have a winter cookout around the bonfire. Lunch is noon-1 p.m. and the hike follows. Preregistration is appreciated.  
Don some snowshoes and put on your thinking cap and see if you can identify various animal tracks and scat to piece together a mystery critter's story. Registration required.
The night sky is filled with constellations based on animals. Kick back in an inflatable planetarium and take a gander to see which ones show up in the winter skies over Michigan. Registration required.
Take a nighttime hike around the nature center to see and learn about these magnificent, nocturnal birds of prey.
Kids ages 8 and up are welcome to go on a winter woodland hike to learn how different animals survive the changing seasons.
