Introduce your child to stamps, learn the value of that old album, see collection displays and buy US and foreign stamps and postal history at the Ann Arbor Stamp Show, sponsored by the Ann Arbor Stamp Club.
At the heart of the show are 28 stamp, cover and collector supplies dealers from nine states, some as far as Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Wisconsin and Kentucky. Also, collectors display exhibits of stamps and postal history by country and topic. A youth area has free stamps for beginners and The US Postal Service (a show co-sponsor) and United Nations Postal Administration will have have recent issues for sale.
Additional features include a Peninsular State Philatelic Society meeting Saturday at 2 p.m. and cachet makers showing their art each day. Those wanting lunch or a snack can purchase it from MiRcore, an Ann Arbor Huron High School student group which raises funds to support genetic research for human health.
