In partnership with Detroit Public Library HYPE Center, InsideOut Literary Arts will jumpstart the imaginations of the city’s young writers in the BrainstOrm Summer Arts Institute, a week-long dive into all the spaces that good storytelling may appear.

During BrainstOrm, youth entering grades 7-9 are invited to engage their own writing through a multi-disciplined approach to the arts, which includes improv exercises, creative writing workshops, reading and discussion groups, daily field trips to museums and more. We can’t think of a better way to start the summer—or jumpstart the next school year!

Workshops will run from Tuesday, July 9 to Friday, July 12, with a culminating event on Saturday, July 13. Advance registration required.
