Description
Cranbrook Institute of Science’s newest exhibit, Doom of the Dinosaurs: Are We Next? allows visitors to walk through mass extinctions that altered the planet and explore prehistoric times when dinosaurs ruled the land.
A must-see experience for children and adults alike, come face-to-face with full-size skeletons of famous dinosaurs, including the Tyrannosaurus rex and less commonly known species such as the Edmontosaurus, and examine ancient coral reef dwellers and sea life once found in Michigan. As you test your knowledge of dinosaurs and the five large-scale mass extinctions our planet has experienced over the last 500 million years, the Institute invites you to learn the facts, see the evidence and decide for yourself if we’re in the midst of a sixth mass extinction.
Children will get the chance to interact with computer quizzes throughout the exhibit and take home their own masterpiece from the dinosaur coloring station. Open during regular business hours, which are as follows:
- 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday
- 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday
- 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday
- noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
