Henry Ford, who has been long-considered an auto pioneer and titan of industry, changed the world with his dreams. We know of his greatest industrial accomplishments as the inventor of the Quadricycle, Model T automobile and the synchronized moving assembly line, but do you know his whole story? The Ford Piquette Plant and Magical Michigan Tours, presents "Henry Ford: From Farm to Factory Bus Tour" to tell it all.
This tour will connect visitors to actual historic sites that reveal Mr. Henry Ford's life from his farming roots to becoming an industrial magnate. Mr. Ford's story will be brought to life by visiting locations important to his life and will give tour-goers a personal view of his life, including the impact the introduction of the Model T automobile and how it revolutionized transportation and American industry.
The tour will not only cover Mr. Ford's greatest achievements, but will also cover some of his greatest challenges. The perspective presented on the tour will look at the impact he had on society in the 20th century.
Tour participants will also learn about Mr. Ford's relationships with other auto pioneers and his workers during the rise of the union and the lasting effects of his legacy.
Just some of the locations highlighted on the tour are Detroit Dry Dock, Diorama Detroit River, Hart Plaza, Michigan Building Bagley Avenue, Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, Ford Home, Ford Highland Park Plant, Ford family resting places, Fort Dix Bridge and many others.
Lunch will be provided at Ford's Garage in Dearborn!
The tour will meet and leave from the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 9 a.m., sharp. This tour was made possible by a grant from the MotorCities National Heritage Area.
