The Michigan premiere of American Circumcision, a new documentary by filmmaker Brendon Marotta, will be shown at Wayne State University on Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Bernath Auditorium on the first floor of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library at 5150 Anthony Wayne Dr., Detroit. Admission is free.
American Circumcision explores both sides of the circumcision debate, including the growing Intactivist movement (intact activist), which believes all human beings have a right to be free from genital cutting. American Circumcision is the first documentary of its scale to explore this controversial custom that lies at the intersection of gender, sex, medical ethics, religion and self-determination.
