Southfield’s 60th Anniversary Community Celebration at the Southfield Municipal Campus

Description
The City of Southfield will host the 60th Anniversary Community Celebration on Sunday, April 29 from 2-6 p.m. at the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road. Attendees can expect great food, fun and entertainment for the whole family with free admission, parking and all activities at no cost, with the exception of food available for purchase.
The community celebration will include plenty of activities for children and adults, including: free face painting, caricature artists, balloon animals, clowns, demonstrations by the Windjammers professional kite flying team, free kites for the first 100 attendees (first-come, first-served), a rock climbing tower, inflatables (must wear socks), a giant obstacle course, bounce house, free ice skating and live entertainment by the Main Element Motown Band. Several food trucks will be on-site with food and drink available for purchase.
The Southfield Fire Department will offer tours of the Fire Safety House, a fire truck and EMS unit in the circle drive in front of the Southfield Public Library. The Southfield Police Department will also be on hand with police cruiser displays and the Mobile Command Unit.
The Police Department’s K-9 Division will conduct demonstrations in addition to the Detroit Police Department Bomb Squad and Horse Mounted Unit. This is a celebration 60 years in the making that you will not want to miss! For more information, call Southfield Community Relations at (248) 796-5130.
