Gifted Academic Year Programs in Novi:
CHAMP-Novi: Math and ISHALL-Novi: English are advanced and accelerated programs in math & English, designed for gifted students in middle school and early high school who are in grades 7, 8, or 9.
Students apply during Spring 2018 and the programs begins in Fall 2018. For example, a 6th grade student may apply for the program in Spring 2018, so that they may begin the program when they start 7th grade in the Fall.
Testing is required in order to be accepted into these advanced programs. Students are required to take an ACT, SAT, or IQ test. You can view more information about why this is required on our website:
• ACT and SAT Tests
• IQ Testing
CHAMP and ISHALL are two year programs which cover four years of curriculum in each subject, making these programs accelerated. In addition, the programs are advanced, because middle school students are learning curriculum that is typically taught in high school.
In two years, CHAMP and ISHALL students will complete all four years of high school curriculum, studying the content that is required for Michigan high school graduation and meeting the Common Core National Standards in Math or English. Our CHAMP and ISHALL programs are designed to replace the regular school math and English curriculum, so that students do not need to enroll in Math or English during the school year while enrolled in the gifted CHAMP or ISHALL programs.
