Steppingstone School for Gifted Education is an independent day school for Young-K through grade 8 gifted students. Steppingstone’s model provides gifted students with a satisfying and challenging education that allows them to unlock their gifts and experience the joys often missing in a traditional school structure. It is a place where gifted children are known and loved for who they are.
The program addresses the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of each student. Its individualized approach lets students socialize with age peers while receiving the academics appropriate to their ability in each subject. Critical thinking and problem solving skills important for success in the future are incorporated across the curriculum. Studies also include music/performing arts, visual arts, computer programming, foreign languages, community service, swimming, and fencing.
To culminate their learning experience, grade 6-8 students apply their skills at the Steppingstone Magnetic Resonance Training (SMART) Center. Students use state-of-the-art magnetic resonance equipment to form and explore unique scientific questions and take charge of the process to discover answers. They then present or write a scientific paper on their projects, a task that incorporates all aspects of their education at Steppingstone.
