Christmas Tree Farms in and Near Grand Rapids

Cut down your own tree at one of these local Christmas tree farms in Grand Rapids and beyond.

Nothing inspires the holiday spirit quite like cutting down your own Christmas tree.

Between the search for the perfect tree in a snow-covered field to the sense of pride you’ll feel when your tree is all set up, this classic holiday tradition is one parents and kids can enjoy together.

So where can you find that experience nearby? If you live in the Grand Rapids area, we’ve got you covered with this list of Christmas tree farms. Check ahead to find out if your farm offers extras like hot chocolate or even visits with Santa.

Before you head out, you might want to visit the Michigan Christmas Tree Association for tips and information about choosing your tree, cutting it down and caring for it this holiday season. Here’s some additional information to consider.

  • Most tree farms have saws on hand, and they’ll trim and package your tree so it’s easy to take home. Consider bringing a few bungee cords if you’d like, but otherwise, you’re covered.
  • Farms have different season start/end dates. Most open the weekend after Thanksgiving. We’ve tried to provide that info where possible, but it’s always best to call ahead.
  • Prices and tree types will vary depending on the farm.
  • Some farms don’t accept credit or debit cards; not all have electricity. Be sure to bring cash or a checkbook, just in case. Call ahead if you have any questions.
  • Many offer activities like bonfires, hayrides and food – usually on the weekends. Again, check ahead to be sure.
